The FOol
Sitting FOol
I’ve been a closet meditator for about 20 years. It all started in University when I found myself enamored with Zen. I read every book I could find, visited several local temples and rec center classes, but mostly sat at home. Locking myself in the bathroom and, first, to just sit still for ten breaths; provided I had enough concentration to get from 1-10. Gradually I got to a point where I could sit for 30-40 minutes, and today I sit once or twice a day for about 30 minutes, depending on how I feel. About 15 years, ago I read a little book that launched me into a different focus (pun fully intended). “Seeking the Heart of Wisdom” by Joseph Goldstein. It was one of those books that just spoke to me and from that point on Insight Meditation was my thing.
Am I a skilled enlightened meditator? No, but I’ve sat regularly for a while, and this blog is an opportunity to share the trials and triumphs of my spiritual quest. We all have our paths and mine is the path of a writer. I write this as much for myself as I do for those of you whom, I hope, read, and enjoy it.
Peace.

Cool thanks for having me over the other night. Good fun. Everytime I leave the house Phoebe follows me to the door. I think she thinks everytime I go out I’m going to a doggie party.
Love the new web site design. Also the T-shirts are great! Keep writing, this is great stuff!
